Like Sand Through the Hour Glass...
I believe that right now if someone were to tell me that secretly there were cameras following me and setting up scenes in my life to show on MTV or Soap Opera Network I would believe them... Ok, I'm not sure if I ever told you about the landlord from hell so let me just bring you up to speed. When I moved out of the dorms I moved in with the crazy roommate into this triplex {bad idea, even for poor undergrads don't let them sucker u} and my landlord was a total mental case from the very beginning accusing us of stealing things she LEFT in the apartment. 1st of all the law states that anything left in or on a rental property after 30 days is considered abandoned property and 2ndly I AM NOT A CROOK you nut!! She found her crap and all was quiet for a while. We dealt with the worst for about a year, roaches, mice, broken front doors, over-grown bushes, broken windows and slew of other broken promises. She was the WORST!! Never rent from Hazel Realty if you're looking for a place in Philly!!!
Anyway, we cut the rent for the repairs that we had to make and so toward the end of our lease she comes up with the bright idea to try to evict us for non-payment, this pissed me off the utmost!!! Because you're playing with my credit and I don't feel like going to court. So I get myself together to fight this case and the first time we go up we're a lil late and missed our appointment so of course they ruled in her favor and we found out that she added all these charges on there so what was originally $850 became $2100 all of a sudden. Of course I petition to re-open the case and it was, thank God. This was back in June. So they try serving her with the petition and she ducks the service men, I had to sit in the court and file appeal after appeal to have her served at her P.O. Box {not an easy task, a judge has to ok this} and it was granted, thank the Lord again. I'm freakin out because this is preventing me from getting my new apartment and the crazy roommate is nowhere to be found so is this bill going to fall all on on me??? I don't think so. Finally I pay all the fees and courts costs, search all over Philadelphia for this loser, mind you all the while setting up my case against the crazy roommate and finishing classes, and we have a court date which was about 2 weeks ago.
The Mr. and I show up to court bright and early Monday morning and the landlord didn't walk in until 10min before they called our name {see how luck is, when I was 10min late at our first hearing, they had already called and ruled on the case but now she walks in right on time..makes you wonder, huh}. She looks stressed and horrible by the way. The door swings open and slams against the wall, we look up, and would you believe...in walks the crazy roommate and her ghetto partner!!! HOW THE HELL DID SHE FIND OUT ABOUT THE CASE!!?? The Mr. explained to me that in cases like this where there are two parties on the defendant side, the court is obligated to notify both parties of the hearing {my only prob. with this is how did they have an address for her???}. She looks a HOT mess as well.
Anyway we get before the judge and Blogworld let me tell she began making up all kind of stories but even though there is MD in me there is also an esquire in me also and I stated my case, with my pictures, new lease, bills, and police report and won my case!! The great part is, going into this case I just wanted this removed from my credit and be done with her but the judge ordered that she return my security deposit doubled since it was passed the 30day requirement!! So not only did I win, I won and then some, nothing but God!! Crazy was actually trying to talk to me like we were ok!! I wanted to slap fire out of her because she's getting excited that I just won us some money and I'm think 'You slow, pathetic loser, you're rejoicing over this win like you not gonna have to turn around and give it to me when I drag your dumb ass to court!' But thanks be to God, I got one demon off my chest I just pray He stays close while I fight the next one.

So are the Days of My Life...
