LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2005!!!
So I went home for Labor Day weekend and of course I expected to have a good time, but this year had to be one of the BEST Labor Days I've had so far! I explained earlier that Labor Day is a big deal in Brooklyn, especially in Flatbush {where I'm from}. For the past 3 years, the Haitians took over the entire carnival with the biggest bands, the best after parties, and costumes but this year I am proud to announce JAMA

ICANS TOOK OUR CROWN BACK!!!

I got home Saturday morning and they were already in the street...lol...Carnival is originally a Trini thing but in Flatbush there is a larger amount of Jamaicans and we party harder, so we took it over. I missed the concert/party at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday and I was a lil upset about that but then my boys called and told me about another party Saturday nite at The Arch, a HUGE club, specializin in bashments. So we all went out there and I thank God I didn't get a perm like I planned...Elephant Man, Bennie Man, Sean Paul, Vybz Cartell, TOK, Patra, Sizzla, and Capelton RIPPED THE WHOLE CLUB APART!!! I will definitely be there again next year.

So Sunday comes and Ma makes me go to church. I say make because for me to go to my home church is a chore {I'll explain some other time} but the service was horrible, the sermon was crazy, and 3 of the elders in the church snored SOOO loud during the sermon, me and Ma were rollin...LOL...LMAO!!!

Aight Sunday nite was where things pissed me off. Aight, Juevex Mornin sorts 11:30 Sunday night. The streets in Flatbush get shut off and all the bands and trucks hit the street with music and everyone chills, drinks, and just walks around listening to the different bands and havin fun...but in Brooklyn there always gotta be some nigga to mess things up. Me and the girls were walkin down one of the most popular streets, Church Ave, and some fool turns around RIGHT BESIDE ME, and says "All yall bitches goin die!" with a burner right in his hand!!! And started shootin, so we all duck and run up the next block. We decide to head back to my house and turn up one of the "safer" block and as we got to the middle of the block, some chick was shootin at another chick and some other bitches was fightin in the street, so we had to turn and get the hell outta there too...CRAZY NIGGAS! We chilled a lil longer and went to sleep around 4.

MONDAY!!! We got our flags on and made our way out to Eastern Parkway where the big party was goin on. I ran right into one of my ex-boyfriends we got this weird relationship, but that's another blog for another time. But we planned on gettin on the HOT 97 truck which is usually poppin since there rarely is a Jamaican truck, but then him, bein a TRUE party man, put me on to THE BEST TRUCK IN THE WHOLE CARNIVAL!! {even though he's a Trini} Elephant Man, Sean Paul, TOK, Foxy Brown, Sizzla, and Bobby Konders&Jabba were rippin the music before the parade started and then they raised the huge Jamaican flags in front of the truck and we danced all day long {FROM 10:30AM-7:00PM}

The parkway was packed and it was soo much fun. My ex put me on to this after party in the city and we were gettin ready to hit that when Ms. Celebrity{Jailyah} herself got us on the VIP list for another party goin down at Shadow, another popular reggae club so we ended up doin BOTH!! lol I didn't get home til some time the next day and by then my hair was screamin for the hairdresser...

And now I'm back here, missed my rehab appointment, and I'm sore and tired, but EXTREMELY HAPPY!!! I decided that I needed to help with the Katrina victims that are comin into Philly, so I volunteered my services to the Red Cross here at Drexel and at my hospital, I hope everyone does their part, we all would want someone steppin in for us. New York's cops are down there tryin calm things down and our Mayor is down there tryin to get people out and to safety. Jay-Z and Puff donated a million dollars, and all the reggae concerts donated some of their profits to the cause, so I have to do the right, New York thing and chip in. Please help these people, a lil sacrifice here today, could be settin you up for great treasure up there tomorrow. Be Blessed
